Here at Padbury Education and Child Care Centre, we celebrate many different cultural events throughout the year. We view multicultural events as great learning opportunities for the children, which is why we like to celebrate the many cultures from around the world and Holi is no exception.
Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated in India and other parts of the world, marking the end of winter and the beginning of spring, with people throwing coloured powder and water at each other in a joyous celebration.
As Holi is a fun and exciting festival that can be celebrated by young children, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to create our very own Colour Run to celebrate this colourful tradition.
The children had a wonderful time taking part, showing excitement and enthusiasm throughout the colour run.
Once back in the Centre, our Educators were able to extended on this cultural tradition by engaging the children through a range of experiences and activities that promote learning about the world around them.
